Acceptable Use Policy

Effective: February 1, 2025
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of Gym Spotter's AI-powered services and is part of our Terms of Service. We built Gym Spotter to help fitness equipment professionals work more efficiently. To maintain a safe and trustworthy platform for everyone, we require all users to follow these guidelines.

1. Prohibited Content

You may not use Gym Spotter's Services to create, upload, share, or generate content that:

🚫 Illegal Content

  • Violates any applicable law or regulation
  • Promotes or facilitates illegal activities
  • Infringes on intellectual property rights (copyright, trademark, patent)
  • Violates export control or sanctions laws

🚫 Harmful or Dangerous Content

  • Promotes violence, terrorism, or physical harm
  • Contains instructions for weapons, explosives, or dangerous materials
  • Encourages self-harm or suicide
  • Promotes dangerous or illegal activities

🚫 Abusive or Harassing Content

  • Harasses, bullies, intimidates, or threatens individuals
  • Contains hate speech based on protected characteristics
  • Doxxes or shares private information without consent
  • Promotes discrimination or prejudice

🚫 Sexual or Exploitative Content

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or content sexualizing minors
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery
  • Content promoting sexual exploitation or trafficking
  • Obscene or pornographic material

🚫 Deceptive Content

  • Misinformation or disinformation intended to deceive
  • Fraudulent schemes or scams
  • Impersonation of individuals, businesses, or organizations
  • Fake reviews, testimonials, or endorsements
  • Phishing or social engineering attempts

2. Prohibited Activities

You may not use Gym Spotter's Services to:

2.1 System Abuse

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
  • Circumvent security measures, access controls, or usage limits
  • Introduce malware, viruses, or other harmful code
  • Conduct denial-of-service attacks or overwhelm our infrastructure
  • Scrape, crawl, or harvest data without authorization
  • Use automated systems (bots, scripts) without permission

2.2 Competitive Activities

  • Develop competing AI products or services using our platform
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract our models or algorithms
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute our Services without authorization
  • Benchmark our Services for competitive purposes without consent

2.3 Misuse of AI Capabilities

  • Generate content to spam or deceive users
  • Create deepfakes or synthetic media for malicious purposes
  • Manipulate or influence elections or democratic processes
  • Conduct surveillance or track individuals without consent
  • Make automated decisions that materially impact people's rights without human oversight

2.4 High-Risk Applications

Without explicit written approval from Gym Spotter, you may not use our Services for:

  • Medical diagnosis, treatment recommendations, or health decisions
  • Legal advice or decisions affecting legal rights
  • Financial advice, trading decisions, or credit determinations
  • Critical infrastructure control or safety systems
  • Weapons systems or military applications
  • Law enforcement or criminal justice decisions

3. Account and Access Requirements

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date account information
  • Use strong, unique passwords and enable two-factor authentication when available
  • Do not share account credentials or allow unauthorized access
  • Report security vulnerabilities responsibly to security@gymspotter.ai
  • Comply with usage limits and quotas associated with your subscription

4. Content Responsibility

You are responsible for all content you input, create, or distribute using our Services. This includes:

  • Ensuring you have rights to use any content you upload
  • Verifying the accuracy of AI-generated outputs before use
  • Not attributing AI-generated content as human-created when disclosure is required
  • Maintaining appropriate records and compliance documentation

5. Reporting Violations

If you encounter content or behavior that violates this AUP, please report it to:

We review all reports and take appropriate action. For urgent safety concerns, contact local authorities.

6. Enforcement

Violations of this AUP may result in:

  • Warning: Notification of the violation and request to remedy
  • Content Removal: Removal of violating content
  • Account Suspension: Temporary suspension of access
  • Account Termination: Permanent termination without refund
  • Legal Action: Referral to law enforcement or civil action

Note: We reserve the right to take immediate action, including suspension or termination, for serious violations without prior warning. The severity of enforcement depends on the nature, intent, and impact of the violation.

7. Appeals

If you believe your account was suspended or terminated in error, you may appeal by contacting appeals@gymspotter.ai with:

  • Your account email address
  • Description of the enforcement action
  • Explanation of why you believe the action was in error
  • Any supporting evidence

We will review appeals and respond within 10 business days.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP to address new risks, legal requirements, or product changes. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use of our Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
